David is a Professor in the Centre for Wildlife Ecology and Department of Biological Sciences at Simon Fraser University. He completed a BSc at the University of Sussex in the UK, a MSc at Simon Fraser University and a PhD the Australian National University before joining SFU in 2003.
David and his students study birds in pristine and modified landscapes from the Arctic to Central America. They conduct research, in partnership with scientists and conservation biologists in government and non-governmental agencies, that addresses fundamental questions in avian ecology and helps inform the conservation and management of birds and their habitat.
